Is there potential for creating a sustainable and personalized mode of transportation that also elevates design aesthetics to unprecedented levels? This bike resoundingly affirms that possibility. Conceived and impeccably executed within the framework of an urban messenger context, its inception took place during my sixth semester of Bachelor studies. This period coincided with my practical internship at a visualization and animation studio in Southern Germany.

Designed to exemplify a sustainable alternative for urban individual mobility, this bicycle sets the bar for aesthetic excellence while serving as a symbol of status, ultimately poised to replace cars in city environments. Crafted from top-tier materials, this lightweight bicycle is equipped with essential urban features, providing users with a superior means of transportation within city limits.

Using the everyday experience of a city messenger as an example, consider the fast-paced environment of New York City, where a vast network of professional bikers is dedicated to swiftly delivering vital documents, food, and small parcels. For these messengers, the bike serves as a constant companion, a reliable partner, and an indispensable tool.

The core of this concept centered on developing a simple yet ingenious solution that empowers messengers to navigate hazardous situations and improve their workflow.

Design

Thoroughly scrutinize every facet of the bike, emphasizing the importance of achieving perfection in each line and surface treatment, akin to the meticulous standards upheld in the automotive industry. This level of precision is not merely desirable but imperative. It is only through such attention to detail that customers will wholeheartedly embrace a sustainable product, turning it into not just a mode of transport but a genuine status symbol. In the pursuit of excellence, integrating cutting-edge technologies, eco-friendly materials, and ergonomic design considerations will further underscore the bike's commitment to both environmental responsibility and user satisfaction.

Features

Elevating the design aesthetic is the functionality seamlessly integrated into this bike. Addressing everyday challenges effectively, it boasts improved OLED lights to enhance safety during rides. The integrated lock not only secures the bike but also deters theft, providing added peace of mind. With a convenient smartphone docking station, navigation becomes effortless, and users can stay connected while on the go. Additionally, the inclusion of airless tires not only enhances handling but also eliminates concerns about punctures, ensuring a smoother and worry-free riding experience. These features underscore the bike's commitment to both practicality and user satisfaction in the realm of sustainable transportation.

Prototyping

In the small-scale bike prototyping process, precision is paramount. The 1:4 scale model is meticulously crafted with 43 parts using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing for detailed replication. After precise surface sanding, the parts undergo priming, painting, and finishing for a polished and accurate representation of the original design.
