Bienenstocks
The MISSION was to craft a beehive that not only met high aesthetic standards but also seamlessly integrated into the urban landscape of the future. The goal was to create a beekeeping solution that not only ensured the survival of millions of bees but also reconnected people with nature. User experience improvement was a central focus in our decision-making process.

Beekeeping, pure luxury?
Contemporary beekeeping practices frequently occur in rural settings and are typically undertaken by individuals with the requisite time, space, and essential tools for tending to both the bees and harvesting honey.I embarked on this project with the aim of comprehending the challenges that most people encounter when practicing traditional beekeeping methods. The solid foundation of experiences and knowledge acquired in the field provided an ideal starting point for the design process.
A hive accessible to all!
Designed with both the bees and beekeepers in mind, it offers an innovative and practical solution for those looking to promote biodiversity and support local honey production in urban areas.
Ergonomic height
First step for accessibility is the physical user interfaceThe horizontally oriented top bar hive architecture offers impeccable ergonomic accessibility, ensuring that even children and individuals in wheelchairs can operate the hive with ease, as the height is thoughtfully designed to accommodate everyone.
Habitat and tool
Furthermore, enhancing the habitat plays a crucial role in bolstering the health and survival prospects of the bee colony, which in turn, significantly contributes to the user's seamless interaction with these essential pollinatorsThe overall design mimics the appearance of a hollow tree, one of the most prevalent natural habitats for bee colonies. Moreover, it incorporates sufficient openings to facilitate improved airflow and provide a welcoming entrance for the bees themselves.
Gamechanger
Jars placed atop the hive become seamlessly integrated into the colony, as they are readily accepted by the bees due to the queen's pheromones. Subsequently, the colony commences comb construction and, eventually, honey production directly within the jars. Users can simply plug and play the jars, patiently awaiting the bees to fill them up.
Peaceful harvest
The RESULT is a beehive design that is focused on creating a peaceful and harmonious environment for the bees while also making it easy for beekeepers to handle and harvest honey. The design involves placing honey jars on top of the hive, which allows bees to produce honey within the jars.To achieve this, the beehive is designed with a removable top that enables beekeepers to plug in jars easily. This system also ensures that beekeepers can unplug the jars effortlessly and without disrupting the bees.
